Wanborough Juniors had our annual Swindon Town Match Day on Saturday 7th February 2015 when 140+ players and relatives/friends were entertained to a day at Swindon Town - a behind the scenes tour of the stadium, professional coaching session for players with Swindon Town coaches, Dominos pizza for lunch and great seats for the 2-0 win over Barnsley.
As usual the Wasps group were in fine voice and top supporters of Swindon Town.
Roll on next year but in the meantime as a club with close links to Swindon Town we are able to offer great deals for certain matches with discounted ticket prices to players/parents/family. Many of us are heading to the County Ground on the 11th April to watch them play Peterborough in their push for promotion!
A huge well done to Chris Chilcott and his (now U8) team who won the U7 Sportsmanship Trophy from the North Wilts Youth Football League at the end of last season. It's a great accolade and this is in a league with thousands of players.
Congratulations and what a fine example to all!
Wanborough Wasps are proud of you all.
Wanborough Juniors entered a float in the 83rd Wanborough Show for the first time and although participants are tougher to find we were lucky to have Chris Chilcot and some of his U8's, Andy Hocking (+ Lisa Hocking) and some of the U11's and Gary Sumner's U12's on board (+ Sarah Sumner)!
We were proud to win the BEST FLOAT competition and donated our £20 prize money to the Macmillan Nurses charity supported by Wanborough Bowls club in memory of Bill Suter - a former long term supporter of Wanborough Wasps!
